T-Mobile UK Starts A Backslide

Posted by Kallan Dahn Monday, February 2, 2009

T-Mobile has announced reduced subscriber adds worldwide. The USA market, despite being the sole provider of the G1 phone running Google Android, has seen a reduction in subscribers and they can't seem to figure out why. Dutch and UK Subsidiaries has seen a decline in subscribers more than any of the other markets T-Mobile is stationed in. T-Mobile still claims the number of subscribers is holding up better due in part to the iPhone. However their churn numbers tell a different story. Churn for T-Mobile is up from 1.8% a year ago, to a bone crushing 2.4% in the fourth quarter. Seems to me that the churn numbers are telling a good part of this story. A 2.4 % churn rate is horrendous.
