The FCC chairman Kevin Martin will resign effective January 20th, 2009. Kevin Martin is expected to be replaced by Julius Genachowski. President Elect Barak Obama gets to choose the new chairman and 3 out of the 5 commission spots. Party Change in the White House has spured the changing of the guard. The law states that the controlling party of the white house get to pick the chairman and have majority seating on the commission.
