The newest Blackberry is starting to show up for sale, and not in the form that we have come to expect from Research In Motion. While RIM did a good job with the release of its Pearl series trying to reach main stream users that desired a smaller form factor, they have taken this a step further. The newest Blackberry will come in a flip design. There is no need to visit your optometrist, and that was not a typo. The new Blackberry will be a hybrid between the existing Blackberry Pearl, and a clamshell style phone. The new Blackberry 8220 also comes equipped with Quad Band GSM/GPRS radios, Bluetooth, 802.11 g WiFi, MicroSDHC expandable memory, and run on Blackberry OS 4.6. The 8220 will also sport a 2 MP digital camera with Auto Focus, and provide native video playback support for MP4, 3GPP, H.264, and DivX. The main control of the unit will be RIM's ever popular Jog-ball. RIM, CellGeek Applauds your efforts to try something different!
