Cox Communications recently won some 700 mhz spectrum at auction. Everyone has been wondering what exactly Cox is up to. Cox has spilled the beans that they intend to spend $500 million developing mobile services. Cox cellular service is to include basic calling plans, and the integration of all Cox services into one device with one cross-platform interface. There is currently no time line that has been given, but this should get interesting, as cellular carriers like Verizon are currently moving more and more into the television segment with services like MediaFlo.
