The Federal Communications Commission has decided to hear the AlltelVerizon merger on November 4th. Verizon has already made it known, that the current financial issues in the economy will not hinder their purchase. If the FCC approves the merger, Verizon would become the nations largest wireless carrier. The current Alltel headquarters, Little Rock, AR., houses 3,000 employees. Top level executive, and middle management positions my also vanish. The merger however, will still require approval from the Department of Justice in order to move forward once approved by the FCC.
