Yep you read the title right! Google maps is finally going to pick up turn by turn navigation while routing your smart phone around the United States. The newest version (currently only available for Android powered devices) has been worked on in conjunction with Verizon Wireless. The turn by turn platform will support a landmar in the industry for free navigation software. The beta application is set to release on the Motorola Droid due out from Verizon on November 6th, and will sell for $200 with a 2 year agreement. My guess is that we will see this layer become available soon in subsiquent versions of Google maps for mobile on other devices.
