Atlantic Tele-Network Gets Verizon's Left-Overs

Atlantic Tele-Network has issued a press release today confirming that they will purchase all remaining Alltel divested markets from Verizon Wireless. The transaction being closed for $200 Million will transfer wireless spectrum rights, network, and aproximately 800,000 subscribers. This purchase is like all others subject to regulatory approval. Provided this purchase is approved, Verizon will have no more Alltel assets to divest as a condition of the merger. The affected areas are in rural Georgia,North Carolina, South Carolina, Illinois, Ohio, and Idaho.
