At&t Purchases Centennial

Posted by Kallan Dahn Saturday, November 8, 2008

At&t Wireless has expanded its customer base yet again. Their purchase of Centennial Communications for $944 Million is expected to add approximately million customers. Centennial is primarily a rural carrier in the Midwest and Southeast area of the US. Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands are also included in Centennial's service area. The deal is expected to close second quarter of 2009. Verizon, after their recent acquisition of Alltel, will still remain the larger of the two companies, but closes the gap between them just a little bit.
