XOHM WiMAX Infrastructure Chicago Ready

Motorola Inc announced this morning that the XOHM infrastructure in Chicago has past network acceptance testing vital to WiMAX. Motorola now has 600 WiMAX base stations live and ready for use.

"We’re very close to crossing the goal line here in Chicago,” said Fred Wright, senior vice president, Motorola Home & Networks Mobility. "Our collaboration with XOHM shows that wireless broadband with fully mobile capability is a reality and will offer consumers untethered Internet access that will spur all kinds of new service innovations."

"The collaboration with Motorola will help bring the vision of open networks to reality." said Atish Gude, senior vice president, mobile broadband operations for Sprint XOHM.
