Recent research surveys have determined that the under 30 crowds adoption of text messaging is driving the older crowd to adopt this technology as well. Studies also reveal that text messaging is a fast and efficient way to communicate with children. This study also concluded that the under 30 crowd is 4 times more likely to respond to a text message within minutes when compared to voicemail. 90% of this group will return a text message within one hour. 76% of the 55-64 age group that is text messaging are sending the text to their children. One in 10 adults said they don't text message because they don't know how. Over all the study has shown that every group with the exception of 65+ is more likely to return text than voice mail 54% of 55-64 age group would respond to a text within minutes. This just proves that text messaging is a reliable way for parents to communicate with their children, but it also shows that children are likely to get a faster response from their parents when they text.
