Posted by Kallan Dahn Friday, September 26, 2008

Car enthusiasts and tech geeks unite at the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) booth at CTIA Wireless and Entertainment Expo 2008. SIG is gearing up for their new low energy and high speed Bluetooth Standards, by introducing the newest member of their marketing team. A Lamborghini Diablo Roadster decked out in Bluetooth branding. Low energy Bluetooth is expected to make an appearance for the first time as personal sensors. These sensors will have uses in sports, fitness, and medical equipment. These sensors will be able to track, send, and measure information to be sent via Bluetooth Low Energy to laptops, PDA’s, even watches. High Speed Bluetooth is expected to revolutionize Personal Area Networks, by allowing faster Bluetooth connections. This will open up new possibilities for application of Bluetooth as it currently relates to media. Video streams, audio streams, device control, and similar functionality are expected to emerge with this technology.
