The Great 4th Generation Data Face Off

There is alot of confusion reguarding data. Here is an article that I wrote about the new 4th generation data technologies titled. The Great 4th Generation Data face Off.

Wireless companies are really heating up a battle for subscribers, revenue, and unique offerings. The newest battle that is set to begin comes in the form of high speed wireless data. There are three weapons to win this battle; each is going to be wielded by companies of very different stature. Here is the tale of the tape.

LTE (long term evolution) is built on top of the 3G technology UMTS (universal mobile telecommunications system). The stinging end of this weapon is the blazing 100mbps download, 50mbps upload, and very low latency.LTE is considered the expected migration of GSM operators. The expected release of this technology is in 2010 making it the last 4G technology to hit the market. Verizon has announced their intention to roll out LTE when it becomes available.
