Connected Devices Fuel Quarter For At&t

The quarterly numbers for At&t are in, and the company is tipping the scales at 87 Million net subscribers at the end of the first quarter 2010.  The company added 1.9 Million subscribers this quarter fueled by connected devices.  The company activated 2.7 Million iPhones and 1.1 Million connected devices this quarter.  The wireless side of the company is proving to perform relatively weak in terms of traditional business wireless business, but the company is being carried by the net adds associated with connected devices such as eReaders.
Total churn for At&t is 1.3% with postpaid only churn at 1.07%.  According the the year ago quarter the company has improved their postpaid churn rate by 0.46%.
Data revenues are headed in the right direction for the company with the first quarter total data revenue totaling in at $4.01 Billion.  According to Technology Business Research, an independent firm data has not comprised 32% of the companies entire revenue stream.  Net post paid subscriber additions are slowing for the company and triggering a shift to lean on data revenues harder to lessen the reliance on thinning voice revenue margins.

Overall At&t posted a year over quarter gain of $78 Million, bringing total revenues to $30.6 Billion.  At&t also increased their operational margin up to 19.6%
