The 3G enabled iPad will ship to arrive at its destination by May 7th. The 3G version of this awaited device will allow the use of wifi when its available, and At&t's 3G wireless network. The 3G version will be significantly more expensive than the wifi only version of the device. The 64 GB version will sell for $829. There have been plans reported from other wireless carriers to bundle the wifi version of the iPad with their personal hot spot aircard products such as the Mifi 2200 (Verizon and Sprint) or the Overdrive (Sprint). The combination of the personal hotspot unit, and the wifi iPad will allow other carriers to sell the iPad cheaper than At&t, and with their independent 3G or 4G experience. The wifi iPad 64GB version will sell for $699.99.
At&t will offer a prepaid data plan starting at $14.99 for 250 Mb of data for casual users, and $29.99 for unlimited data for heavy users.
