US Cellular has released a new by opt-in only feature called overage protection. Users that sign up for the free service will recieve a text message that will alert them when they have reached 75% of their available minutes or messages. Once they have reached their maximum message or minute allowance the program will send another message. Usage is evaluated on a nightly basis.
