Ad requests from Android smartphone increased 5.8 times between April and October accourding to mobile ad network AdMob.  This increase has resulted in Android's requests totalling 20% of all US smartphoe traffic to their network.  The Motorola Droid released by Verizon Wireless already accounts for 24% of all Android requests for their network.  New Blackberry devices are also seeing significant growth as well.  The Tour and Curve 8900, and 8520 have been leading the RIM device category.  The aging 8100 series Pearl dropped from 28% of RIM traffic to 16% in October.  The 8300 series curve however, is remaining rock solid at a 44% share for the last 6 months.
