Access has announce new versions of their Access Linux Platform (ALP). ALP V3.0 offers smoother transitions, eye catching graphics, and animations. The new platform is LiMO compatible.

ALP Mini is featured for cost conscious markets. Feature Mobile Phones, Internet devices, smart phones, and navigation equipment are prime candidates to take advantage of this new software. ALP Mimi does not include support for native Linux applications, or Palm Garnet compatibility.

ALP Mini is available for immediate licensing, but Access did not mention when ALP V3 will be available. Japan's NTT DoCoMo already intends to use ALP to replace their existing interface. They intend to start shipping 3G FOMA enabled devices using ALP in 2009.

ALP has evolved as a subset of the China Mobilesoft Linux stack. The stack was aquired when Access purchase Palmsource. Access then added their own browser, Java SDK, Widget SDK, and a few other components.
