At&t will make up to 2,000 GoPhones available for those that have been displaced by mandatory government evacuations in areas being ravaged by Hurricane Gustav. The phones will be free on a first come, first serve basis. At&t is also going to include 15 Minutes of airtime with the phones. The phones will be available at select stores in San Antonio, and Huston. To qualify for the offer evacuees must show a valid license with a zip code from an evacuee area and be at least 16 years old. At&t further recommends anyone who is experiencing a fast busy when they dial to try text messaging. The text messages use less network resources and will go through faster than a voice call during an emergency. With evacuees being displaced some areas may see in increase in network congestion as they try to get in touch with loved ones.
