Google has long been a leader in innovation when it comes to both the web and search markets. Google takes another leap of faith with their recent development to help make mobile websites location aware. This will allow Google to ultimately enter the "Mobile Advertisement" realm. The newest API from Gears uses cell tower, and GPS location information to pinpoint your where abouts when you visit an enabled website from your mobile phone. Web designers have already been able to use a similar function with Gears Geo-location for Desktop PC's, but this will bring them further into the mobile market. Google is working on expanding the functionality, as well as the available platforms. Right now, Gears Geo-locate Mobile is only available through Internet Explorer Mobile running on Windows Mobile phones.
