Recent studies have been done to figure out just how far cell phone use has spread. We have become dependant enough that 1 in 5 teens age 10-17 would rather give up watching tv to keep their cell phone if they were forced to choose. The study also says that 54% of 8-12 year old children will have a cell phone by 2010. Currently 60% of teenagers have a cell phone. This brings into light the question "How young is to young for a cell phone?" I think this should be each parents individual choice, based on both need, and the responsibility of the child in question. Why do they want the phone? Looking cool, and fitting in alone are not enough to warrant the purchase.
