The Folks over at ABC conducted an experiment on their show in response to a viral video of cell phones ringing causing the popcorn to pop. They state that the microwave ability of a cellular phone is 1/1000th of the power that we use to cook with. Everyone is still out in terms of weather or not a cellular phone can cause cancer, but they will not cook your popcorn.
