Apple Wins Samsung Patent Disputes in United States

The battle between Samsung and Apple has been long standing, and heated.  Apple has claimed that several of Samsung's devices has violated their patents. The United States International Trade Commission issued a preliminary ruling today stating that it finds Samsung guilty of violating several of the patents.  Not all of Apple's claims are valid, but most of the patent infringement claims have stuck.  Several of Samsung's most popular devices including the Continuum (SCH-I400), Transform, Epic 4G, Intercept, and the Indulge.  The importation and sale of these devices in the United State pose a violation of the law within the United States.

Microsoft Files Questionable Patent Suit Against Motorola

Microsoft has claimed that Motorola's Android based devices violate patents that are held by Microsoft. The patent suit filed with the ITC claim that Motorola's Android devices include essential smart phone technologies such as email synchronization, calendar, scheduling meetings, and passing internal hardware information such as signal strength and battery life to applications.  Microsoft claims that the lawsuit was filed only to force Motorola to respect their intellectual properties.

Apple Gets Sued By Nokia Over iPhone

Nokia has officially filed lawsuits for patent infringement against Apple. Nokia claims that technology in the iPhone is breaking about 10 patents held by Nokia. Nokia already licenses these patents to 40 other manufacturers, and claims they are vital to the operation of a GSM based handset.

Broadcom still at Qualcomm

Chip manufacturer Broadcom has brought a new claim against Qualcomm. This time broadcom is claiming that qualcomm is misusing its patents to collect royalties more than one time. Both companies have been at odds over patents for years, and are currently in the middle of working things out.

Klausner Technologies Sues Verizon Over Visual Voice Mail

Klausner Technologies has filed lawsuit against Verizon Wireless. Judah Klausner the inventor of the technology claims that Verizon's Visual Voice mail service violates his patent. Klausner is also suing LG for the Voyagers for the same violation. Klausner has had recent patent infringement "success". Klausner Technologies settled with At&t, Apple, and Ebay for undisclosed amounts in June.
