Microsoft has claimed that Motorola's Android based devices violate patents that are held by Microsoft. The patent suit filed with the ITC claim that Motorola's Android devices include essential smart phone technologies such as email synchronization, calendar, scheduling meetings, and passing internal hardware information such as signal strength and battery life to applications. Microsoft claims that the lawsuit was filed only to force Motorola to respect their intellectual properties.
Droid X owners are now given the choice to install Froyo (Android 2.2) on their device. In order to do this, their device must be rooted.
A very stern warning was passed down from Motorola recently. Motorola will not be held liable for an issues with a device once it has been rooted and/or installed with an unauthorized version of Android. Motorola also further warned that users who can not wait for the Authorized Froyo will not get it.
Thats right, unauthorized now = no authorized later. If you choose to forgo the warning Team Blackhat has leaked the newest ROM for the DROID X with Froyo, and has a full set of instructions available to help you through this process. As always proceed at your own risk.

An email response from Motorola confirms that Motorola intends to upgrade the DROID to Android 2.2 in the near future. Motorola will begin working on the update as soon as the source is released to the open source community.
Recent screen shots have been whirling around the internet that appear by model number to be the Droid 2 by Motorola. The device is labeled the A955, which in Motorola Speak would typically put it as the successor the the A855 (DROID). We don't really have any other information available right now, but will report it as soon as we know more.
2.8″ display, 3.1 megapixel camera, GPS, 512MB ROM / 256MB RAM, 700MHz processor, and Android 2.1 covered in MOTOBLUR.
The device is expected to release in June in a variety of colors.
Verizon Wireless is pushing an over-the-air update to users of the Devour. The update will patch issues with the web browser, email application, on-board radio and make the Home and Menu keys more responsive.

The highly anticipated device is scheduled for a November appearance at Verizon Wireless. The phone however, has been kept mostly a secret until Motorola made a mistake on their website and accidentally outed the phone for a short period of time. Here is the break down.
The Motorola Evoke QA4 was just announced by Cricket. The Evoke is a touch screen capable slider with a physical standard phone pad, and a full QWERT touch keyboard that will come in handy for the preloaded social networking applications. The phone is also Stereo Bluetooth capable, and carries a 2MP camera. The Evoke will retail at $300, and should be available shortly both in store and on the website.
Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Motorola and LG Electronics have decided to help conserve electricity usage, by implimenting a "Green Rating System" for their chargers. The chargers will recieve a star rating between zero and 5 stars. Cellular phone chargers continue to draw power from the wall when they are plugged in, even if the cell phone is not charging on the other end. Two thirds of the wasted electricity from cellular phones is caused from chargers being left plugged into the wall when not in use.
The Motorola Ve240 is a candy-bar style phone with MP3, Stereo Bluetooth, removable media card expansion up to 2GB, and USB 2.0. The CDMA digital phones is made to enter the market at an attractive price point. Carriers have not announced the price point yet, but both MetroPCS and Cricket will be getting their hands on this handset.
Motorola Inc will require Aura purchasing customers to sign a contract that forbids then from allowing the phone to be resold. The Aura's expensive price tag of $2,000 will also come along with a unique ID. Should you decide to break the contract, Motorola would be able to easily track the ID number to the original purchaser.
Motorola's latest release includes quad band GSM radios with Edge, Wifi, a 5 MP Camera, FM Radio, TV OUT, MicroSDHC Expandable up to 4 GB, and stereo Bluetooth technology. The phone will run for $99.99 with a 2 year contract from T-Mobile.
